Chief Grand Master Jay K. Shin

Chief Grand Master Jay K. Shin is President & Founder of U.S. West Coast Taekwondo Association. He is 9th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo with more than 50 years of experience. He was a 1988 Seoul Olympic Coach and former Chief Master Instructor for Nepal's National Teams and Special Elite Forces in the Gurkha Army. He is current Oregon State Martial Arts Commissioner for USA Taekwondo, Vice President of U.S. Taekwondo Grand Master's Society, and Head Chairman of USA Taekwondo Oregon Foundation.

Chief Master Rick W. Shin

Chief Master Rick Shin is eldest son of Chief Grand Master Jay K. Shin. Chief Master Rick Shin has been training Taekwondo for past 30 years and holds 6th Degree Black Belt. He is Oregon State Taekwondo President for USAT and CEO for U.S. West Coast Taekwondo Association. He was official delegate for 2008 Team USA to World Championships in Turkey. He is also Kukkiwon certified International Referee. Chief Master Shin oversee every aspects of the U.S. West Coast Taekwondo Association and USA Taekwondo Oregon developments.

Chief Master Jon Culbertson

Chief Master Jon Culberbertson is Vice President of U.S. West Coast Taekwondo Association. He is 7th Degree Black Belt. Chief Master Culbertson oversee all the Association Events and Functions. He joined our Association as 3rd Degree Black Belt at Tigard School under Chief Grand Master Shin in 1993. Following year, he was asked to establish Hillsboro school by Chief Grand Master Shin.

Chief Master Diwakar Maharjan

Chief Master Diwakar Maharjan is Vice President of U.S. West Coast Taekwondo Association. He is certified WTF Master Instructor and International Referee. Chief Master Maharjan is Association's Referee Chairman & Event Director. He holds 6th degree black belt. Chief Master Diwakar Maharjan started Taekwondo under Chief Grand Master Shin from Nepal in 1983.

Chief Master Sang B. Yun

Chief Master Sang Yun is Vice President of U.S. West Coast Taekwondo Association. He is certified WTF Master Instructor and Kukkiwon certified International Referee with 6th Degree Black Belt. He was invited to join our organization in 2003 by Chief Master Rick Shin from Iowa.

Chief Master S. Ranjit

Chief Master S. Ranjit holds 5th Degree Black Belt. He is certified Master Instructor and International Referee by the World Taekwondo Federation. Chief Master Ranjit is Association's Referee Chairman. Chief Master Rajit started Taekwondo under Chief Grand Master Shin in 1984 at Nepal. He was sponsored to come to United States by our Association in 1995.

Master George Hristescu

Master George Hristescu holds 4th degree black belt. He was a former Romanian National Team member, specialist in sports conditoning at Romania National Sports Academy. Chief Master Rick Shin sponsored Master George Hristescu to come to United States in 2003 from Romania to establish our Bethany school.<.

Jr. Master Michael Tornincasa

Jr. Master Michael Tornincasa is 4th Degree Black Belt. He has competed numorous championships throughout the United States in early years. He has 20 years experience in Taekwondo. His U.S. West Coast Taekwondo career started under Chief Master Rick Shin in February of 1996 at Beaverton school.

Jr. Master Frenel Ostin

Jr. Master Frenel Ostin is 4th Degree Black Belt. He has competed numorous championships throughout the U.S. and worldwide. He started Taekwondo under Chief Master Maharjan in 1995 at Hollywood school. He is a head coach for Oregon State Jr. Elite Team.

Master Sita Rai

Master Sita Rai is Olympian and World Championship medalist from Nepal. Chief Master Rick Shin sponsored Master Sita Rai to immigrate to the United States in 2003. She is 5th Degree Black Belt. She started Taekwondo under Chief Grand Master Shin in the mid 80's at Nepal.

Instructor Ms. Joan Davis

Ms. Joan Davis holds 3rd Degree Black Belt. Also she holds black belt in Kung Fu. She is a regional director for eastern Washington for the Association. She joined our organization in 2000.

Master Brandon Oliveira

Master Brandon Oliveira is 3rd Degree Black Belt. He has been training Taekwondo since 1994. He has competed numerous championships and retired undeafeated champion in State of Oregon. His Taekwondo career started in 1993 under Chief Grand Master Shin at Tigard School.

Instructor Ms. Hope Jackson

Ms. Hope Jackson started Taekwondo in 1996 at Beaverton School under Chief Master Rick Shin. She is in charge of organizing annual summer camp and events for the Association. She holds 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo.

Master Jim Obrien

Master Jim Obrien joined our Association in 2006. He has BA in Business Administration. He has been training Taekwondo for past 25 years and certified Yoga instructor. He holds 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. He joined Association in 2006 at Sherwood School and was invited by Chief Master Rick Shin to have a career in teaching Taekwondo.
